The partnership aims to accelerate the development and supply of lower-carbon biofuels, supporting emissions reduction efforts and expanding sustainable fuel options within the global energy mix.

Corteva and BP have formed a strategic joint venture aimed at scaling biofuel production, reinforcing collaboration between the agriculture and energy sectors to support the transition to lower-carbon transport fuels.

The initiative will concentrate on developing crop-based oil feedstocks for sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel, bringing together Corteva’s strengths in seed technology and crop innovation with BP’s expertise in refining and fuel marketing. Production is expected to ramp up later this decade in line with rising demand for sustainable fuels.

The partnership highlights growing confidence in biofuels as a viable decarbonisation solution. By expanding feedstock supply and accelerating development timelines, the joint venture is set to contribute to emissions reduction efforts while enhancing the availability of low-carbon energy options globally.
