Technip Energies has been awarded two major contracts by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for the development of new units at the Bina refinery, supporting capacity expansion and efficiency improvements. The projects are set to strengthen India’s downstream infrastructure while contributing to long-term energy security and more resilient fuel supply.
Technip Energies has secured two large contracts from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for major expansion and upgrade projects at its Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai refinery in Maharashtra, reinforcing India’s downstream and petrochemical infrastructure.
The awards cover new petrochemical units at Bina and India’s first Petro Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (PRFCC) unit at the Mumbai refinery, enabling higher-value product output, improved efficiency, and greater conversion of heavy residues. The projects support BPCL’s broader refinery and petrochemical expansion strategy and reflect growing investment in complex, value-added refining capacity.
The contracts further strengthen the long-standing collaboration between Technip Energies and BPCL and highlight continued momentum in large-scale downstream investments aimed at enhancing India’s energy security, industrial growth, and domestic manufacturing capabilities.
