As the third-largest energy consumer in the world, India currently accounts for approximately 25% of global oil consumption growth and is also a leader in clean energy initiatives. India aims to more than double the share of gas in its energy mix to 15 per cent by 2030, a crucial step in diversifying its energy mix. Furthermore, by 2030 the country is committed to achieving 500 GW from non-fossil sources and plans to invest $150 billion in clean energy projects. Additionally, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the Global Biofuels Alliance aims to drive the world’s most significant expansion of biofuel production, enhancing energy security while promoting sustainability.
