Mr. Dibyendu D. Sarkar is an accomplished engineering professional with a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies and over 33 years of experience in the petroleum sector. As Project Head, Renewable Energy at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), he is spearheading the company’s aspiration to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035.
Under his leadership, BPCL has successfully built a renewable energy portfolio of 100+ MW operational projects and 200+ MW under development, in addition to securing 300 MW through NTPC’s utility auction. His expertise spans solar, wind, and hydrogen refueling projects, positioning BPCL as a key player in India’s energy transition.
He has worked extensively across refinery operations, administration, project commissioning, and technical studies. He has been an active member of the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD), contributing to the development of industry safety standards and audits for Indian refineries.
He also led BPCL’s Energy Transition Study and has represented the company as a speaker at major Energy Transition and Green Energy conclaves. His strategic vision and execution capabilities continue to drive BPCL’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions, ensuring alignment with India’s green energy goals.
