Zaid has been with PETRONAS for 21 years and counting & currently heads the R&D section of Renewable Energy Technology Program for PETRONAS Research including RE generation, energy storage solution and smart energy management system to support its sustainability agenda. Prior to this assignment, he headed the R&D process technology section in PETRONAS Research’s advanced modelling group, encompassing computational and machine learning modelling work in technology development which has been deployed in PETRONAS’ refineries, petrochemical plants and LNG assets.

He has served various roles within PETRONAS, ranging from plant operations, technical services, feedstock and product planning and scheduling, asset benchmarking and technology management, and has an extensive connection and network to technology partners and universities.

He is an avid reader of a vast range of subjects, loves travelling, and enjoys playing and coaching basketball in his free time.
