Mr. Ritwik Rath serves as the Executive Director-Information Systems and ERP at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), where he leads the ERP division and spearheaded the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA, one of the largest and most complex ERP rollouts in the global Oil & Gas sector. His strategic leadership has been crucial in managing the integration of this new system within HPCL’s extensive network of refining and retail operations across India.

A distinguished alumnus of the National Institute of Technology (formerly REC) Rourkela, Mr. Rath holds a Master’s in Computer Applications and has been a valued member of HPCL since 1991. Over his career, he has made substantial contributions to various technology-driven initiatives, including the Digital Transformation Program, Organizational Competency Management, and Leadership Development. He was also instrumental in the establishment of HPCL’s Corporate Data Centre and e-Learning Centre at the Management Development Institute.

In addition to his ERP responsibilities, Mr. Rath oversees the Digital Applications setup within the organization and was a key figure in defining HPCL’s Digital Vision & Strategy. His efforts led to the development of a Digital Experience Centre and cultivation of a strong digital culture within the organization. He is also currently leading implementation of various digital initiatives, driving HPCL’s digital transformation journey. He also crafted a comprehensive Information System (IS) Strategy, integrating People, Process, and Technology. 

Beyond his IT and strategic roles, Mr. Rath has a deep interest in psychology, focusing on the dynamics of personalities and group behavior. He is a Certified Assessor for Competency Development and serves as a Staff Member for Group Relations.
