Dr. Sumit Chowdhury is an entrepreneur, corporate leader and recognised authority in digital infrastructure and economy, telecom and information analytics, and smart, sustainable cities with a focus on climate change. Over a 30+ year career, he has led large-scale digital transformation programmes for government institutions in India and Fortune 500 enterprises across India, Australia and the United States. He holds a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Chowdhury is Founder and CEO of GreenEarthX, building a multi-country green hydrogen marketplace powered by Beckn, in very similar architecture to IES. He is also Founder and CMD of Gaia, a digital and data analytics solutions company that has delivered national-scale platforms and award-winning solutions in voice analytics, Edge AI, AI/ML, Agentic Process Automation and blockchain.

Previously, he was a President and CIO of Reliance Jio, and with IBM, Reliance Communications, IBM  and KPMG.
