India Energy Week (IEW) has emerged as a premier global platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, technology providers, and innovators across the energy value chain. The event provides a unique opportunity for States to showcase their energy potential, policy ecosystem, and investment-ready opportunities to a national and international audience.
Assam, as the energy gateway of Northeast India, occupies a strategic position in India’s hydrocarbon landscape. The State is endowed with abundant oil and gas reserves, a robust refining and petrochemical base, a rapidly expanding gas transmission and distribution network, and significant potential in non-conventional and green energy domains. With focused policy interventions and infrastructure development, Assam is poised to play a pivotal role in India’s transition towards energy security, sustainability, and decarbonisation.
In this context, the Assam State Session at IEW 2026 is being organised to present Assam’s integrated energy vision, highlight investment opportunities across conventional and emerging energy sectors, and foster meaningful engagement with investors and industry stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES:
• Showcase Assam’s strengths as a hub for hydrocarbons, petrochemicals, gas-based industries, and clean energy.
• Highlight the policy support, institutional framework, and ease-of-doing-business reforms undertaken by the Government of Assam.
• Present investment-ready projects and opportunities across the energy value chain.
• Facilitate direct interaction between State Government, PSUs, and prospective investors.
• Position Assam as a preferred destination for energy and energy-linked investments in Northeast India.
