Location: Focus Session Room - PEB

OVERVIEW

This session will explore India’s journey toward a sustainable energy future that necessitates a strategic focus on Green Capital Expenditure (Green Capex) to drive the development of low-carbon and green infrastructure. The panel will discuss the frameworks, financing models and policy enablers that can help channel long-term capital into greenfield projects in the energy sector.

As India advances toward its Net Zero commitments, a coordinated approach involving public sector undertakings (PSUs), private sector investors, financial institutions and government agencies is crucial for mobilising adequate green investment. The session will highlight current initiatives and future opportunities for scaling up Green Capex across upstream, midstream and downstream segments of the oil, gas, and energy value chain.

Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas is involved in vigorous Project Monitoring Process including milestone-based monitoring through Partiyojana portal. It has also been entrusted with driving Energy Transition as well as overseeing CAPEX monitoring.

The E&S Division will discuss the following:

  • Defining Green Capex in the Indian context
  • Financing mechanisms and institutional support
  • Demand/targets for alternate fuels
  • Industry experiences and best practices
  • Project implementation in CBG, hydrogen, natural gas and the biofuels sector

Thereafter, industry leaders will share insights on leveraging various platforms, technologies and strategies to improve project implementation and securing green finance.
