Atanu Mukherjee is CEO of Dastur Energy Inc. and M. N. Dastur & Co (P) Ltd. (Dastur), a global technology, consulting and engineering firm serving the energy, materials, steel, metals, and mining industries. Under his leadership, Dastur works with companies, investors, and institutions on technology and economics, project development, engineering, finance, M&A, and asset revitalization.
He has led strategic initiatives with the U.S. Department of Energy, NITI Aayog, and the Government of India on innovation, policy, economics, and technology strategies for clean steel, clean chemicals, low-carbon fuels, renewable power integration, and grid modernization.
Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA, and Digital Equipment Corporation in Boston, MA.
Atanu grew up in Korba, Chhattisgarh. He holds a joint graduate degree in Engineering and Management from MIT’s School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management and is a Graduate Fellow at Stanford University in Energy and Chemical Engineering. He has authored over 50 publications across energy, materials, economics, and computer science, holds multiple patents, and is a sought-after speaker, writer, and columnist. He was elected to the World’s Who’s Who in Science and Engineering in 2012.
An avid golfer, pianist, and private pilot, he divides his time between Austin, TX, and Kolkata, India.
