Giorgio Bonvicini is Head of Sustainability and Carbon Reduction at RINA. He has a M.Sc. in Energy Engineering, thirteen years of work experience in climate change mitigation and adaptation; since 2017 is a Certified Energy Management Expert (“EGE”) and since 2020 he is Chair of the RHC-ETIP working group on sustainable heating and cooling at district level.
He owns significant experience in climate- and resource efficiency-related activities for compliance of projects with Equator Principles, including the quantification of GHG emissions, Climate Change Alternative Analyses, Climate Change Risk Assessments covering both Physical and Transition risks. Starting from the results of GHG emissions inventories and carbon footprints, Mr. Bonvicini has developed decarbonization strategies for several Clients, ranging from the oil&gas to the financial sector. In addition, he has contributed to more than 30 EU co-funded research and development projects on innovative solutions for energy transition, from alternative fuels to renewable energy production, from sustainable district heating and cooling to local energy communities.
