Sabyasachi Pattanaik is a senior energy professional and currently serves as the Country Director at Oracle Utilities – Opower, where he leads regulatory strategy, market development, and business growth across India and the Asia-Pacific region. With over 25 years of experience spanning the entire value chain of the energy and utilities sector — from power projects to boardroom policy — he brings deep expertise in digitization, decarbonization, behavioral energy efficiency, and SaaS-based utility solutions.
At Oracle, he drives adoption of the Opower suite, which uses smart meter data, AI/ML, and behavioral science to enhance customer engagement, demand response, energy efficiency, and electrification programs. His role bridges cutting-edge technology with regulatory policy, ensuring scalable impact in DSM, DER, and EV adoption through data-driven strategies.
Sabyasachi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utkal University and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, along with an Advanced Financial Management diploma from XLRI Jamshedpur. He has also completed executive exchange programs in international business and marketing at institutions in the Netherlands and France. He is widely recognized for his work in policy advocacy, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships, particularly in advancing sustainable and customer-centric energy transitions in the Global South.
