Bio

Ramakrishnan Subramanian is the Executive Director – HSE Marketing in Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. 

A graduate in Production Engineering from NIT, Tiruchirappalli, Ramakrishnan has more than 37 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. After joining HPCL in Jan 1989, he was in Marketing Operations as frontline Officer. He was the Head of a major Installation of HPCL from 2003 to 2007. 

He has been an integral part of the Supply and Distribution Team in Headquarters and played a key role in setting up of Distribution Planning process (MDP) including global best practices such as inventory benchmarking / Optimization of Total Landed Cost in HPCL.

In Apr 2015, he was promoted to role of Head Product Placement Planning in newly formed Integrated Margin Management Group vested with mandate to plan, enhance & deliver superior Net Corporate Realization (NCR), i.e., margin across the entire value chain. He created many processes including Demand Forecasting, end-to-end Planning, scheduling and backcasting of HPCL’s value Chain covering Crude procurement, Refinery Production, Logistics and to Marketing of Retail, I&C, LPG, Lubes, Aviation, etc. 

In Jan 2025, he was made the Head of Supply, Operations and Distribution and promoted to Executive Director in Apr 2025. From 4th July 2025, Shri Ramakrishnan Subramanian is posted as Executive Director – Health, Safety & Environment of Marketing.

Known as an avid process innovator and Leader with human touch, Ramakrishnan shares passion in analytics, Optimization techniques and capability building of the Team.
