Dr. Bhuwan C. Joshi is a distinguished professional with over 32 years of extensive experience in operations, supply chain management, terminal management, and large-scale project execution. Currently serving as the Chief General Manager (Operations) at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), he is responsible for overseeing POL terminal operations across India. His leadership has been instrumental in launching several innovative products, including MD15, ED-5 Ethanol-100, and E-20, along with exporting IOCL’s first XP-100 premium fuel to Sri Lanka. Under his guidance, all terminals attained ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications, and he implemented key road safety measures that significantly reduced accidents across operations.
Throughout his career, Dr. Joshi has held various high-ranking positions, such as Chief General Manager of IOCL’s Delhi State Office, where he successfully managed the POL operations for Delhi and Haryana and spearheaded the launch of Bio-Diesel, XP-100, and Green HSD. He has been pivotal in infrastructure development, automation, ERP integration, and IoT initiatives. Dr. Joshi also played a pioneering role in implementing the world’s first ethanol-blended MS transportation via pipeline and contributed to strategic projects such as the Rs 6593 crore Gujarat Refinery Resid Upgradation and the INR 453 crore MS Quality Upgradation Project.
Academically, Dr. Joshi holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from UPES Dehradun, a PG Diploma in Business Management from MDI Gurgaon, a Master’s in Environmental Engineering, and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. He is also a published author, contributing to several prestigious journals on logistics and supply chain optimization in the petroleum industry. With a strong foundation in leadership, technical acumen, and strategic planning, Dr. Joshi continues to be a key figure in driving innovation and operational excellence within IOCL.
